MBARI EARTH workshop in Newport June 24-29

Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) Education and Research: Testing Hypotheses (EARTH) is providing a free, week long training for teachers that focuses on at-sea data collection. R/V Falkor Ship to Shore Classroom – Dec 8

A team of researchers from the University of Hawaii and Pacific Northwest are currently at sea on the R/V Falkor, studying the submarine volcanoes of Tonga. For the third year in a row, Schmidt Ocean Institute has offered to provide a Ship to Shore Classroom Connection from the R/V Falkor this December with Gr 5-12 classrooms on the Oregon coast. The National Stem Cell Foundation (NSCF) partners with The Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Science and Mathematics at Western Kentucky University (WKU) to fund ten scholarships each year for middle school science teachers working to transfer a passion for science to students in this age group. FREE Eclipse Books for Kids and Teachers

Portland-based publisher, Orbit Oregon, seeks to donate hundreds of extra copies of The Big Eclipse Book and The Big Eclipse Activity Book to Oregon teachers, principals and STEM educators.
