Who is eligible?

We are looking for college-bound students entering the 10th grade (or 14-15 years old) with interest in science, engineering, and math.  We will consider all applicants, but preference will be given to low-income or underrepresented minorities.

How much does the camp cost?

The camp is free including materials, overnight accommodations, and food. We do not provide transportation to and from the camp.

 When is the camp?

Registration will take place from 4 to 5 pm on August 6th and students will be picked up between 4 and 5 pm on August 11th.

 Where will students stay?

Students will stay in dorms on the Central Washington University campus.  Most of the activities will also take place on campus; however, students will also go on a geology field trip and to the Museum of Flight in Seattle.  We require all participants to stay on campus even if they live nearby.

What will the students be doing?

Students will be doing a variety of hands-on activities including writing computer programs, building rockets and robots, and working in groups to design a planetary mission.  We will provide all materials, and no previous experience is necessary.  Students will eat in the dining halls on campus. There will also be activity time when students can visit the pool or CWU’s rope course.
